Self-Checkout Units

Shoppers Drug Mart commissioned us to design a set of modular self checkout units for stores with high traffic. The goal was to create custom fixture kiosks that provided a more streamlined, user-friendly experience for the shoppers, and alleviated checkout traffic.

The challenge was to design multiple units in a very small footprint. The units had to be designed in both right and left versions that could be combined in clusters according to space requirements for each store location.

The final design was a compact unit that housed all the necessary components to make the transaction, while considering privacy for the user's information and comfort of personal space. The design's unique stylish look blended with the Shoppers Drug Mart existing furniture.

The clients was very happy with the outcome, and the design was rolled out in 800+ stores all over Canada.
